Upper Mustang Trek is known to be a paradise for the adventure junkies. Known for all its fascinating marvels and offerings, this scenic place has become a hotspot for almost all sorts of adventure sports and activities.

The Upper Mustang Trek is one such destination that entices the trekkers like any other destinations in the country.To enter Upper Mustang, that is to travel further north from Kagbeni, trekkers need special trekking permit.On your way,you will go through a completely contrasting landscape having a dense mixed forest of Oak, Rhododendron, Cider and Alpine. Adding to the beauty of the trek is the opportunity to visit a couple of quaint villages which are extremely scenically situated amidst thick forests.

Trip Itinerary


  • Day 1: Arrival Kathmandu airport pickup & transfer to hotel briefing your trip overnight.
    Our one of representative will be receiving you at Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu later You will be then transferred to your respective hotel in our private tourist vehicle. Overnight at Hotel.

  • Day 2: Full day sightseeing tour Kathmandu city and prepare for trekking document overnight.
    In the morning, after breakfast, we host a pre-trip meeting at your hotel in Kathmandu and introduce your trek other crew member.After the Pre-Trip meeting your sightseeing trip will start and. We provide a private vehicle and professional tour guide. We visit Boudhanath Stupa, one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world, where we observe Buddhist monks in prayer in the monasteries surrounding the stupa. After Boudhanath Stupa we visit Pashupatinath, the most famous Hindu temple in the country, located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River. We also visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square, which is a collection of pagoda and shikhara – style temples grouped around a fifty-five-windowed palace of brick and wood.

  • Day 3: Drive to Pokhara check in hotel and boating in fewa lake overnight hotel.
    After Breakfast, transfer to Pokhara by tourist bus and check in hotel of pokhara. In the afternoon you can roam around the beautiful city Lakeside or boating on the Fewa Lake. Dinner in the evening at restaurant near by the Fewa lake.

  • Day 4: Domestic flight from Pokhara to Jomsom and trek to Ekle Bhatti (Lower Mustang)
    After breakfast we take Morning flight from Pokhara toward the great portal between the snow covered peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. You will enjoy the massifs of more than 8000 meters, and the deepest gorge.
    On our arrival to Jomsom we will meet the rest of the trekking member and later We start to trek towards Ekle Bhatti.

  • Day 5: Trek from Ekle Bhatti to Muktinath overnight

  • Day 6:Trek to Kagbeni / Height - 2700 - 2800 m / Distance - 8 km / Time - 3 hours
    today we climb up the Jhong Khola valley leaving Kagbeni, we then join the direct trail to Muktinath . From here the trail continues high above the Jhong Khola to the village of Jharkot. We take a break here for having lunch before continuing on to Muktinath. On arrival at Muktinath we will be rewarded with the actual religious site and the tranquil beauty of Muktinath.

  • Day 7: Trek Kagbeni to Chele / Height - 2800 - 3050 m / Time - 7 hours / Distance - 18 km.
    In this trek we will need to get special permit and after that we follow river that leads up and down the hill. we head to Chele crossing the river and forest. then we finally reach to Chele.

  • Day 8: Trek Chele to Eklo Bhatti / Height - 3050 - 3820 m / Time - 6 hours / Distance - 13 km.
    After breakfast we climb to Taklam La Pass through plateaus and narrow stretches with an amazing views of Tilicho Peak, Nilgiri and Damodar Danda. we then descends towards the village of Samar. After 2 hours of climbing we arrive at the first campsite but seems like it only provides camping for a few tents. So we continue our walk to camp with nicer prospects, which is just one hour further. Overnight stay in tents.

  • Day 9 Trek Eklo Bhatti to Ghame / Height - 3820 - 3520 m / Time - 4 hours / Distance - 12 km
    The trail climbs to the Yamada La crossing teahouses, Tibetan-influenced settlements, and crosses over a few other passes. The another longer climb will be to Nyi Pass after lunch, the trail then steeply descends to Ghame. Overnight stay in tents
    Trek Ghame to Lo-Gekar (Monastery) /Height - 3900 pass / Time - 4 hours / Distance - 9 km

  • Day 10: Trek Ghame to Lo-Gekar (Monastery) /Height - 3900 pass / Time - 4 hours / Distance - 9 km
    Today’s trek is easy half-day trip from Ghame to Lo Gekar , beautiful place with Buddhist monastery, old fortress and magnificent scenery all around.

  • Day 11: Trek Lo-Gekar to Tsarang (easy day) /Height - 3520 - 3500 m / Time - 3 hours / Distance - 9 km

  • Day 12: Tsarang to Lo manthang / Height - 3500 - 3700 m/Time - 5 hours / Distance - 13 km
    Trek to Lo manthang hosts majestic views of Nilgiri, Tilicho and Bhrikuti peak. The trail first descends to Tsarang Chu Canyon and then climbs up to the windy pass of Lo, from where we can see the Lo Manthang Valley. While descending to Lo Manthang, views of the walled city appear with its hills on the Tibetan Border. Overnight stay in tents

  • Day 13: Lo manthang and eastern valleys , Nympho , Graph (Monasteries) .5-6 hours round trip.
    Today we will be exploring around Lo-Manthang that includes and the Nyphu and Gharphu Monasteries and local courts. You can even visit the the red thugvhen and Chiodi Gompa. Four-storey building of King’s palace including the majestic views of the Himalayas is another attraction of this place.

  • Day 14: Lo manthang and western valley, Namgyal, Tingkat / 4 - 5 hours, round trip
    This will be another round trip day excursion to explore Namgyal, Tingkat and the valleys to the west . Overnight stay in tents

  • Day 15: Lo manthang - Surkhang / Yara Gang (Village) 4-5 hours
    From Lo-Manthang, the trail goes straight till Dhi pass and descend down to Dhi village. Dhi village is one of the best village of Lo-Manthang regions. It seems more prosperous and is settled in a very suitable place. From then, we pass a river and after two hours we reach Surkhang. Overnight in Surkhang.

  • Day 16:Surkhang - Lori Gumba (Monastery) -Yara Gang / 4-5 hours (4000m)
    It takes around 2 hours to reach Lori Gompa which is situated at the hilltop. It serves as an important monastery of the local community.After exploring the beauty of this place we trek back to yara gang. Overnight stay in tents.

  • Day 17:Tsarang-Tange /Height - 3500 - 3240 m / Time - 4 hours / Distance - 10 km
    From Surkhang, we pass the river named Damodar Kunda and Ghashang. After crossing the river, the trail ascends to a pass of 3850m, and continues through grasslands . After the pass the trail drops rapidly to the settlement of Tange. Tange is a small settlement with around 30 houses with most of the houses attached to each other.

  • Day 18:Tange Tetang / Height - 3240 - 2940 m / Time - 30 hours +/ Distance - 10 km
    The trek continues through deep ridges and provides magnificent views of wind carved hills. Tetang village is formed between two hills to shield it from the strong wind that hit the entire Kali Gandaki valley. Tetang is the upper village of Chukksang.

  • Day 19:Tetang Kagbeni / Height - 2940 - 3800 m / Time - 6 hours

  • Day 20:Kagbeni to Jomsom / Time - 5 hours / Height - 3600 m - 2700 m.

  • Day 21: Flight from Jomsom to Kathmandu via Pokhara.
    Early morning we take flight from Jomsom back to Pokhara. Once we arrive at Pokhara airport, we then drive to hotel and take some rest then after we will have sightseeing tour around Pokhara, which covers Fewa Lake, Devi’s water fall, Museum and Gupteshwor cave. Overnight at hotel.

  • Day 22:Free day for shopping relax.
    After breakfast We tour Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath stupa and Boudhanath stupa which are all world heritage sites. We have a full day sightseeing tour around these places that will give you a good introduction to the Kathmandu Valley. Also, roaming around the shopping area of Thamel is worth spending quality time. We will have a final dinner together in one of the best restaurant of Kathmandu.

  • Day 23: Onward departure.
    Today you'll be transferred to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination.
