Main Info
Ghandruk village (1940 m) trek offers a pleasant introduction to trekking, thus providing both the holy Macchapuchre mountain (Fishtail) and Annapurna South with some wonderful close-up views. The stunning and ornate village of Ghandruk, home to the Annapurna Conservation Area Initiative, is our destination. Here you have an opportunity to tour the initiative to explore the restoration work being carried out first-hand. Three relaxing days to offer an insight into mountain life. Ghandruk has the old village’s ‘must see’ draw, a closely knit network of slate-roofed houses and alleys. One of the shortest treks in the Annapurna region is Ghandruk.
The trek is relatively simple and passes lovely villages throughout. This Ghandruk is the second largest settlement populated after the village of Sikles by the Gurung people. Not only the famous trek for foreign trekkers, but also many Nepalese students in particular make Ghandruk their destination. It’s such a beautiful village where two to three days can be spent. Starting at Bire Thanti, 2 hours by private car from the scenic town of Pokhara. The hike to Modi Khola takes about 5 hours. 3 to 4 days can be scheduled for this hike. The main trail from Ghandrung passes from Tadapani to Ghorepani Pass.
