Bardia National Park is smaller than Chitwan but houses the same animals and jungle environment of the Terai region. Bardia is more isolated than Chitwan which is why it has fewer resorts and fewer visitors. But this also adds to the excitement of exploring this jungle. The park is a part of Asia’s largest Tiger habitat. The park is home to animal species such as blue bulls, deer, wild boars, the langur and rhesus monkeys, civets, hyenas, rhesus macaque, jackal wild dogs, sloth bears, otters, tiger, rhinoceros, mongoose wild elephant, black buck, gharial and marsh mugger crocodiles, Gangetic Dolphin and many other rare and other endangered species which allures wildlife lovers from all around the world. The exotic Gangetic Dolphin can be spotted in the Karnali River. Moreover visiting Bardia National Park allows one to explore the vast ecosphere dotted with several species of plants, wildlife and birds as well as to familiarize the ethnic culture.

Itinerary

After 12 hours drive you will arrive at Bardia in the evening, the lodge facility briefing & Dinner and overnight at Resort

You will visit the temple area, you will enter in a real typical tharu house and see the local life. You will also visit Bardia National park visitor centre with its crocodile farm. After lunch, in the Afternoon you will go on elephant back for a safari (2h30). Elephants are very adapted to go inside the vegetation and give good possibilities to get close to rhinos dinner and night in Resort .

After breakfast, we drive one hour to Chisapani, over the Karnali Bridge where we have a typical lunch (with local fish) in typical restaurant. After lunch we begin the floating safari (on raft). There are no big rapids on the river and this excursion offers good opportunities for magnificent landscapes and birdlife among other animals.
In the evening, we pitch the tents on a sandy beach (just across the river, outside NP) and we go in a very remote and authentic Tharu village for cultural dances and dinner (A big must of the Bardia trip). After the program we go back to the tents where a big wood fire awaits us. Night in tents.

Jungle walk (full day) After an early breakfast, we will go on foot in the national park for the day with a naturalist guide and a porter. There are good possibilities to see one horned rhino, wild asian elephants or Bengal tiger among other animals. Picnic lunch dinner and night in Resort
