Main Info
Muktinath’s temple and holy shrines (3800 m) are the most important pilgrimage sites in the Himalaya for Hindus and Buddhists. For decades, travelers have used a road to get here. From as far away as South India, you can see Tibetan traders and sadhus (wandering Hindu holy men). The neighboring village of Ranipauwa is the township serving Muktinath: sandy, overdeveloped and still busy with pilgrims coming and going.
